Natalie Lungley
I first discovered Natalie through her covers. I've never been a huge fan of female vocalists but Natalie has a certain aura, a shyness and this held my attention, she's also stunning, and not to mention her voice is haunting beautiful.
I have always enjoyed her covers (which she does with her brother Matt) despite not being a cover fan, but the videos are amazing having totted up 5.5 million views and helping her gain a healthy sized fanbase from all across the world.

The acoustic element in 'Candles' makes the transition from acoustic cover artist to original artist seem seamless. A good choice.
The video itself (produced by Matt, starring Natalie) is dark, creepy, glitchy and very cinematic.. it's unique and it fits the songs percussion, crunches and creaks perfectly.
Which brings me to her second release 'Secrets', firstly her lyrics are beautiful and well written.
'The secrets sold you have been told, those whispers sewn into our clothes
Will keep us safely here, In time they'll disappear'
This song itself also see's a Portishead vibe (Portishead must be a big one on the influence list, I see she also has Fiona Apple too, great taste) the drums are trippy and there's certain noises that sound like houses items, like keys being shaken which is awesome, very good production. The dreamy synth is floaty, fluttery and relaxing and blends with Natalie's voice and harmonies, which are sweet and sensual.
The visual (above) is also beautiful (produced by Matt again, who should consider making videos professionally by the looks of it!! :) ) and it matches the feel of the song.
It's a strong second and I'm looking forward to the third, which will also hopefully get an official video too
Which brings me onto Matt, the brother who quietly provides from the background and often doesn't get noticed or given a pat on the back for his work by listeners.
Matt Lungley
As I said in one of my earlier posts, I first discovered Matt through Natalie's covers. I was drawn to Matt because he had a sadness in his eyes, he's also handsome and he plays instruments. I'm a girl, that's the way it works, it's only natural :D I'm a big fan of male singer songwriters, so when I found out he sung too, I couldn't wait to hear his music..and his music is beautiful.

It's painfully beautiful.
Above we have 'Sink for Support'..and it's simply beautiful. It has a City and Colour meets Jeff Buckley feel to the song. The flow and pace of the song is reminiscent of Jeff Buckley's - Lover, You Should Of Come Over'. Whereas the topic of the song rings Elliott Smith, self attacking heartbreaking lyrics..
'You don't fit in here; everyone's watching your darting eyes
Slip out now, no one is looking, no one is watching, no one would care....You're no good at this, I hate your brain..'
Matts voice however, is SO unique, unlike anyone I've heard of actually. It's delicate and airy..his harmonies are structurally amazing with blends of highs, middle and lows and everything in between. They're so perfect and his highs send shivers down my spine.
Unfortunately Matt hasn't got the same size following as his sister does (Natalie FB likes - 14k - Matt FB likes - 3k) which seems a little unfair seeing as Matt is present and plays an equal part in all of his sisters videos. This is however expected as doing covers generates you a lot of fans, not doing them doesn't.
I love them both and I hope they do a song together one day.
What is clear, is that these are very talented siblings. They both make completely different genres of music. But both are somehow so in sync.
Both unique, both unsigned. I doubt for long.
